The first step I prefer to take is getting the MVC working in it’s most basic sense for the original process. The second is to split the code apart by type, images, css, html, into the view. The third starts by rebuilding the remaining php into new classes, with functions, as the controller and model. Where belongs where; Controller: Processing Logic View: Template Model: Database Interaction Helper: Functions Library: Abstract Classes, Foundation of the Application Hooks: Analytics Processing The first thing I can say at this point it there is a place for everything, and keep everything as small and simple as possible.
